The Inspiration Behind It All...
Born and raised in Spanish Harlem, New York City with a tiny family, I grew up with food being the center of attention as NYC is one of the biggest food capitals of the world.
From a young age, as I helped my mother stir bowls of batter and decorate Christmas cookies, I realized I loved the ability baking had in creating memories and bringing people together. Thinking about it always brings me back to all the giggling, the flour footprints I tracked all over the house from my mom chasing me, and a smile so big I thought my cheeks would explode.
Mid-way through high school, I decided to make a career change from medicine into the hospitality industry to chase a dream I never thought was possible.
During my studies at The Culinary Institute of America, I found my craft as both a sugar artist and cake decorator. Traveling internationally to France, Italy, England, and Ireland, fed my hunger for education and culture through cuisine, anthropology, and dessert.
Just before graduating, I met my husband working at a French bakery in NYC. After the birth of our son, Charlie, in January of 2018, my husband and I knew we wanted to start creating those same memories with him. Charlie is so focused and curious by nature, he already possess that exploding smile as he plays with ingredients and watches me bake. I create these sweet memories for him.
